4 Favorite Bibles for Kids

Favorite Bibles for Kids

Read and treasured, we love these Bibles! So many memories with these as we read to our children when they were young. They say a “Bible that is falling apart likely belongs to someone who isn’t” which I love, since as you can see by the photograph, these have been well-loved. (Just keeping it real here.)

Sometimes we tape things back together and forge ahead. Read on for our favorite bibles to share with your family.

4 Favorite Bibles

Little Lambs Bible Soft, sweet, and full of simple poetry-style Bible stories, this is a perfect Bible to begin with. Our children heard the rhymes from these stories so much they could often finish sentences as we read together. Covering major Bible stories from Genesis to Revelation and told through poetry with gently illustrated board-book pages, this is a lovely Bible for the youngest of listeners. (Brings back memories of rocking our kids and reading from this every night to them!)

The Jesus Storybook Bible The tagline for this Bible reads, “Every Story Whispers His Name” which is a beautiful way to describe how each story thoughtfully points to Jesus. A reminder that all of scripture points to Him and our lives should, too!

This is an approachable way to grasp the big picture of scripture, so much so, that my mother-in-law would share copies of this Bible with new believers, no matter their age. (A sweet and thoughtful gift).

I’ve heard said before, “The gospel is so simple that a child can grasp it, yet so profound that a lifetime of study will not fully unveil its depths.” Which is probably why I love this Bible so much: it can touch the tender heart of a child and yet challenge hearts of all ages.

NIV Adventure Bible A great first option for sharing the full Biblical text with your child. Loaded with full-color feature pages with information and facts kids will gobble up. Features include life during Bible times, Biblical characters, and ways to live out your faith.

This one is a classic option for kids and for good reason!

The Action Bible: God’s Redemptive Story Written in comic-book form, this chronological writing of the Bible is engaging and fun. Illustrated comic-style pages are exciting for kids as they engage with the truth of God’s Story. A favorite of our boys and well-loved in our house, we’d catch them reading it all hours of the day!

Read the Bible With Them

Finally, the most important decision you make may not be actually which Bible you choose for your children, but that you actually make a practice of reading it. Don’t underestimate the power of showing up daily to open God’s Word with them. Let them hear you read it.

And may they find you reading it, too.
