Let’s talk about 2025 senior photography sessions in Arizona.

First, congratulations as you begin to head into your senior year, with graduation in sight! With a year that can be overwhelmingly busy, I’d love to help you take the fuss out of your senior photographs. Let me answer a few questions, give you some tips, and share about what a senior photography session is like!

When should I schedule my 2025 senior photography session?

Given the extreme temperatures that we have in Peoria, Arizona, it’s best to schedule your senior session anytime from October-April of your senior year. The weather is more comfortable which means you’ll look at ease in your photographs, making the session a breeze. (Contact me to secure your session time!)

Which location should I choose?

I’m a Kansas-girl at heart, but I have grown to love the desert, especially for photography sessions because we have so much natural LIGHT here with our nearly 300 days of sunshine! Location choices could include desert, architectural elements, or near water. It all depends on what you’re looking for. I’ve written about locations that are near to Peoria, Arizona, and how you can achieve various backgrounds with your location choice!

What should I wear for my senior photography session?

I wrote an in-depth journal post on clothing choices, accessories, and prepping for your senior session, which you can find here. I cover tips to keep your photographs looking timeless, as well as ways you can use what you already have (no need to go purchase a whole new wardrobe!) to create a classic look.

What if it’s cloudy?

While we don’t have to think about clouds much in the Phoenix valley area, sometimes they do come. Clouds can actually help create really even lighting situations! In fact, one of my favorite sessions EVER was during an afternoon where we juggled rain, clouds, and WIND. It was wild, but the photographs are absolutely stunning. We even had a rainbow appear across the lake! This session was amazingly memorable because we all remained flexible and kept positive attitudes!

What’s it like working with a senior photographer?

Well, I’m going to speak straight with you here on what is important to me, as YOUR photographer:

1. I value YOU. Yep, this one comes first for me, because I’m a people-centered photographer. I know you have prepared for the session. I want to serve you well. I want to make the most of our time together. I’ll help you along the way. I’m happy to answer questions prior to your session and I’ll be your guide during the session from start to finish.
2. I think ahead. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I’m a detail-person. I like to know details, be prepared, and provide the BEST possible experience for everyone I serve.
3. My goal is to deliver natural, timeless, and joyful photographs. I want you to look beautifully natural in your photographs. I focus on timeless styles, because I don’t love following trends that are here today and gone tomorrow. And our session will be a joyful one – I can’t wait to work with you!
